OUTCOME
For electrification projects, cable installation is the most difficult and time consuming process and is usually the cause of project delays. Singapore Power with an all-underground distribution network has shown the participants that installing cables through pre-laid PVC conduits under carriage-ways can be done expeditiously and with minimal disruption to traffic.
Singapore Power has also shown that having good cable laying practices and quality control procedures in cable jointing will minimise cable failure and improve network performance significantly.
The key performance driver in the reliability and quality of power delivery in Singapore Power is condition monitoring. Singapore Power shared with the participants its network management methodology
of prevention and containment in the maintenance of cable and equipment to achieve high returns on assets and meet performance targets in a cost-efficient manner.
Robust network design is the cornerstone of system reliability. Singapore Power shared with the participants its network design principles and configurations to attain a high level of power reliability and quality with optimal efficiency.
