KEY FACILITATORS

  • International Institute for Energy Conservation – Philippines Office

OUTCOME

  • The participants recognized the need for an Endorsement label and there were industry representatives who expressed interest in participating once such a scheme is implemented. It was suggested that room air-conditioners with the top 15-20% MEPS rating is a good place to start.
  • As the present testing capability of the country presented a room for improvement, LATL planned to seek ISO 17025 certification by 2010 and explore inclusion of room air-conditioners performance and/or safety testing.
  • To ensure the availability of adequate testing resources, there were also suggestions to set up private testing facilities.
