OBJECTIVE
To announce the decision to raise the existing Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for air conditioners
HIGHLIGHTS
As we observed aircon models having standards or EERs well above these minimum levels are already available in the market, this indicates strong demand for higher efficiency aircons.
For the new standards and labels to take into effect, the DTI must issue an administrative order announcing the new standards to all stakeholders prior to the development of its implementing rules and regulations (IRR).
DTI shall publish the new standards and labels in national newspapers for public awareness on high efficiency airconditioners.
